Add Yoga to Your Day With These 3 Simple Poses

Here are three easy yoga poses you can add to your day—even if you are not flexible—to bring more balance, calm, and intention into your routine. Watch how your life benefits from adding yoga.

1. Mountain Pose (Tadasana) – Find Your Ground

Mountain Pose may look simple, but it’s powerful. This pose helps improve posture, build awareness, and create a sense of steadiness—perfect for starting your day or grounding yourself between tasks.

How to do it:

  • Stand tall with your feet hip-width apart

  • Press evenly through all four corners of your feet

  • Engage your core and roll your shoulders down and back

  • Let your arms rest by your sides or bring palms together at your heart

  • Take 5–10 slow breaths, focusing on feeling rooted and present

When to use it: First thing in the morning or anytime you feel scattered.

2. Cat–Cow (Marjaryasana–Bitilasana) – Move & Release

The gentle cat-cow flow is ideal for releasing tension in the spine, neck, and shoulders—areas that tend to hold stress from sitting and screen time.

How to do it:

  • Begin on hands and knees, wrists under shoulders, knees under hips

  • Inhale, drop the belly, lift the chest and gaze (Cow)

  • Exhale, round the spine, tuck the chin (Cat)

  • Move slowly between these two poses for 5–10 rounds of breath

When to use it: Midday, after long periods of sitting, or whenever your body feels stiff.

3. Child’s Pose (Balasana) – Pause & Breathe

Child’s Pose is a calming, restorative posture that invites stillness and reflection. It’s a reminder that rest is just as important as movement.

How to do it:

  • Kneel on the floor and sit back on your heels

  • Fold forward, resting your torso over your thighs

  • Stretch arms forward or let them relax by your sides

  • Close your eyes and breathe deeply for 1–3 minutes

When to use it: In the evening, before bed, or anytime you need a moment of calm.

Make It Yours

Yoga isn’t about perfection—it’s about intention. Whether you practice for two minutes or twenty, what matters most is showing up for yourself. Adding a small personal ritual, like setting an intention or choosing a meaningful symbol for your mat, can make these moments feel even more special.

At Mat Marker, we believe your yoga practice should reflect you. Even the simplest poses can become powerful when practiced with mindfulness, beauty, and intention.

Roll out your mat, take a breath, and MAKE YOUR MARK—one pose at a time. ✨
